Personal data
What Avaris stores.
Written in plain language. If anything is unclear, ask, and I will fix this page.
The site, without signing in
Nothing. No account, no form, no analytics, no cookie. You can read every public page without leaving a trace with us.
One exception outside our control: the fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which therefore receives your IP address.
The dashboard, once signed in
Signing in with Discord gives us access to three things: your ID, your username and avatar, and the list of servers where you hold the "Manage Server" permission.
This information stays in memory, for the length of your session. They are never written to disk. Restarting the server wipes them, and you sign in again.
A cookie named avaris is set to keep you signed in for seven days. It contains only your Discord ID and a signature. Your Discord access token is not in it: it never leaves the server.
This cookie is strictly necessary for the dashboard to work. There is no advertising or tracking cookie, so there is no banner to click through.
The bot, on your Discord server
Avaris stores what it needs in order to work:
- Server settings
- Channel and role IDs, enabled options
- Moderation
- Warnings, sanctions, staff ratings
- Activity
- Experience points, time spent in voice
- Economy
- Virtual currency, inventory, purchases
- Tickets
- Transcripts, support ratings
- Backups
- Server structure, at your request
No message is stored, apart from the ticket transcripts you ask for and the logs you switched on yourself in your channels.
For how long
For as long as Avaris is on the server. Data is kept after it leaves, so that an accidental removal doesn't destroy months of progress. You can ask for deletion at any time.
Who has access
The site's publisher, to run and troubleshoot the bot. Nothing is sold, rented or passed to a third party. The data is hosted at Hetzner, in Germany, therefore within the European Union.
Your rights
You can ask to see your data, have it corrected or have it deleted, by writing to the address given in the legal notice. You'll get an answer within a month.
If we disagree, you can refer the matter to the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
Changes
This page will be updated if the bot or the site changes. The date is at the bottom.
